Why are Galactomyces essential to our skin?

There are quite a few ingredients that we hear about, or we might even put them on our face.

What if there are also some others that we do not know so well, but deserve our attention as well?

For me, the answer is definitely Yes. There are, and that’s why I decided to write 2 articles for well-known ingredients that we want to know more about. Also, I will write for the unknown ones, that deserve our attention. And whether they are suitable for our skin and our needs, so we can integrate them into our daily beauty routine! For today galactomyces get under the microscope 🌟

Let’s start with the theory. Galactomyces are a type of fungi in the Dipodascaceae family. Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate is a concentrated nutrient and a by-product of fermented sake. Legend says that the effects of the lactose fungi were first discovered by sake brewers. They noticed that their hands remained much younger than the rest of their bodies. The secret behind this was the galactomyces.

In cosmetics it is used as a moisturizing agent, it has antioxidant effects and helps a lot in the similar appearance of the skin. It is one of the most popular ingredients (No. 2) in the products of the Korean beauty routine.
